Do you remember ‘Hyōhaku’ by Ono Fuyumi?

   ‘Hyōhaku(漂舶)’ is a short and side story of Juuni kokuki. It is a bonus of  the audiobook “Higashi no watatsumi nishi no sokai” published in 1997.
   I think I will make it my next translation target.
   What do you think about it?

Five-toed pantyhose?

   Do you know five-toed pantyhose? 😛  It was invented in Japan a few years ago.

   It’s very convenient when you wear split toe sandals. And good when you wear shoes on a hot day, too.
   Don’t you think why I wear them on my bare feet? Because Japanese summer is very muggy.
   To wear shoes was not our custom until the beginning of Meiji era. Before that, we wore geta, zori, waraji, and so on. They are not European-style but all open-style footwear.
   To wear closed-style footwear at summer time in Japan is crazy. But about a hundred years we have continued these acts of madness. So we need something to guard our feet from Japanese sadistic summer weather. 😉
   Now when we wear shoes on summer, we don’t do them on our bare feet. But Japanese who have been using open-style footwear for a long time can not bear their toes without full control. We still have our ancestors in our inside. 🙂
   Then, five-toed pantyhose has appeared. XD

Edit(2011.12.29):
   A few people visit here by googling and they seem to look for a shipping store on the internet. So I added this edit.
   Five-toed pantyhose was developed by REVEALLE (レヴアル) which is a local small company in Japan. But they are shipping their product here.     Revealle (@Rakuten) or Revealle (@Amazon)
   You can find easily some Five-toed pantyhose if you search inside the store by keywords such as five, toe, etc.

Update #2.

I had a terrible experience about updating my server for a week.
While difficult changing from MySQL5.0 to MySQL5.1, my database was spoiled accidentally and my blog had gone completely out of shape.

It is MySQL5.1’s false. I think it has a bug on the very beginning of its configure.
But finally, I did well yesterday. 🙁

About favicon.

I’ve set favicon.ico on my site.

I only added the tag below to the header template.
<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”/******.ico”/>

Of course, I prepared an ico.file before this. 🙂

Last Friday, I made up my mind to update my server system.

Usually it’s very easy. But this time I wanted to change my MT’s system language, so I was stucked this point. I’ve finished all my jobs on Sunday’s midnight, almost Monday.

Oh, I’m exhausted.

Ono Fuyumi’s latest novella, ‘Hisho no tori’.

Shinchosha’s quarterly magazine, yomyom vol.6, was published on Feb.28. One short story of ’12kokuki’ series appeared in it. The ’12kokuki’ is written by Ono Fuyumi. The last book of the series was published before six years and a half.
I read this short one immediately. I had a nice time with it. But, it’s very short for me who have been waiting new stories of this series. I want she writes a new long novel of this series very soon.

My old books.

I sold my old books to a used bookstore yesterday.
21 books were only 740 yen. But, it’s no problem.
The problem is I still have a respect for books. You might say I am very old-fashioned.
But, in my childhood, books was still precious and my parents told me to cherish my books. So, even now, I am consumed with guilt to throw books out as trash.
This is my honest feelings that I am happy to give him/her my used books if a person who reads them exists.
